Undoubtedly the world's wildest GT Coupe...

This isn't exactly "new" news, but when we found out that someone had raced an Alfa-bodied Funny Car, we just had to let you know about it. Even if happened back in 2003!

Granted, it's basically a Camaro/Firebird body with an Alfa-esque nose, but it's still nice to look at. Swedish drag racer Leif Andreasson campaigned this gorgeous car in the FIA's Top Methanol Funny Car category for one season. With power from a 521 cubic-inch BAE hemi, the car was capable of running 5.70's at 250 mph on the quarter-mile. Click on http://www.andreassonmotorsports.com/default_gallery.htm, then go to the "2003" gallery.

In case you're wondering, Andreasson now drives a Dodge-bodied flopper and finished second (by a mere two points) in the 2006 TMFC championship standings.
