Note: Tech Bulletin is for installation of Carello Headlight covers equipped with USA type headlight rings.
1. Remove existing trim rings.
2. Remove headlight from front. Re-install headlight from inside the fender well.
3. Attach small rubber bushing to the tabs on headlight cover.
4. Hold cover up to headlight nacelle; the plastic tabs on the cover should fit into notches in the headlight cutout. On some Spiders these notches are not cut out and must be cut by the installer.
5. When properly installed, the edges of the Carello cover should be flush with the headlight nacelle.
6. Hold the cover in place and put the front chrome retaining clips into position. The narrow end of the clip fits into the front (notch) of the cover. The wide end of the clip (with bolt hole) will be just in front of the cover. With a sharp instrument, mark the position of this bolt hole on the sheet metal of the car.
7. Remove cover and drill the marked bolt hole to the same size as the clip’s hole.
8. Press the chrome trim ring onto the headlight cutout, refit the cover and retaining clip. Place a machine screw (6mm in kit) through the clip and the hole in the fender. Place a wave washer and nut on the machine screw from inside the body. Tighten the machine screw until the wave washer is compressed. Do not over tighten - this will damage the cover.
