| Even if you’re aware of this issue, you may want to warn parking valets or others who drive your car: never depress the accelerator pedal when starting these cars. They can backfire, and the intake plenum could blow off, denting the hood (or in the GTV6, destroying the fiberglass hood bulge). A backfire could also let the crankshaft kick backward, which can result in bent valves if the timing belt tensioner is not set exactly right. |
