Servicing Your K&N Filter

 


Tools and Supplies Needed.
Test unit was from a 1982 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce.

Step 1: Remove the filter from the car.

Step 2: Lightly brush off any loose debris from the filter using a clean paint brush.

Step 3: Apply the Air Filter Cleaner supplied with the K&N recharger kit to both sides of the filter. Let is soak for about 10 minutes but DO NOT LET IT DRY.

Step 4: Rinse the filter with cool low-pressure water with the water flowing in the opposite direction that the air flows through the filter.

Step 5: Let the filter air dry. DO NOT use hi-pressure or hot air to dry the filter.

Step 6: Clean your air filter housing with a damp rag.

Step 7:
Once the filter is completely, dry apply the oil supplied with the K&N recharger kit. Spray both sides of the filter using smooth even passes, holding the nozzle 3 inches from the crown of each pleat. Let the filter dry for about 20 minutes. Touch up any light areas on the filter; it should be one uniform color. Clean the sealing surfaces of the filter with a dry rag.

*Dispose of rinse water and rags properly.
