| When replacing flex joints on 116 series Alfas be certain, prior to disassembly, to clearly mark the driveshaft so that it can be reinstalled in the exact same orientation. Also, be aware that on the assembly line Alfa Romeo used as a means of balancing the driveshaft differing numbers of washers under the bolts securing the flex joints. Therefore it is important to return all fasteners to their original orientation and location as well. In a small percentage of cases, the driveshaft will end up out of balance after a flex joint change, in which case you would experience vibration.
